Santa’s Workshop has landed in St. George

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

Every year like clockwork, the Halloween and Costume stores pop up at the end of September ready to outfit everyone in their ghostly and gruesome apparel.

When November 1st rolls around, the retail space becomes vacant for a couple of months and a new business takes its place. But not this year-

Santa’s workshop has opened a seasonal store open up until Christmas, offering great prices on toys, scooters, electric scooters, etc.. and at a fraction of the price. I have been in there a couple of times, and am amazed at their pricing.

They are located in the TJ Maxx Shopping Center in St. George.

What’s the Krave?

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

Over the past couple of years there have been several yogurt shops that have popped up around the country. Many of them have focused on a new “tart” flavor, and have dressed it with items ranging from Captain Crunch, strawberries, and Mochie Balls (it’s a Japanese treat and they are heavenly!).

Krave used a similar concept, but instead of having 2-3 flavors to choose from there are 14-16 options. There are also over 30 toppings to chose from, and you get to create your own creation.

They charge by the ounce so you can have as much or as little as your pocket book will allow. In my experience, you will pay about as much as you would pay at Golden Spoon- there are just more options to choose from.

Brick Oven Pizza coming to St. George, Utah

Brick Oven Pizza coming to St. George, Utah-

If anyone has lived in, visited, or have known someone who lived in Provo, Utah, it is inevitable that you know about two things.: NCMO’s ( if you don’t know what that is, ask a friend) and the Brick Oven Pizza.

Brick Oven Pizza is located across from BYU and has been feeding Cougars for over 50 years, and they finally decided it’s time to come down to St. George and feed the Rebels..yes… the Rebels. I refuse to refer to them as the Red Storm.

Brick Oven Pizza will be located just off River Road and St. George Blvd where Ruby River used to be.

Their website states –

Back in 1956 a corner café was converted into one of Provo’s first pizza parlors. Over the years we grew up and what was once Heaps A Pizza became the popular Brick Oven Restaurant. In keeping with our commitment to fresh made product we serve the same delicious hearth pizza pie, home made root beer, deep dish lasagna; but now we boast the “best salad bar in town”, delicious fresh made pasta and soups. Great food isn’t all you can enjoy at Brick Oven; There’s also the fast, friendly service and our festive atmosphere. We’ve been a favorite for 50 years and we plan to keep it that way.
