Drag Strip and Motocross in Southern Utah?!?

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Quail Creek Industrial Park located in Hurricane, Utah will shortly see a new tenant. Not a new manufacturer, not a new storage facility, but a new Drag Strip. Ground was broken recently for the Red Hills Raceway, which according to the Spectrum, is the first of many automotive and racing related projects to fill the area. The spectrum reports that the strip will cover 10 acres, allow room for 2,500 spectators.

March is the estimated completion date for the project. The developers of the project will also seek permission from the city to add a motocross track, a circle track, sand track and other automotive businesses.

Five Guys Burgers & Fries opens in St. George Utah

Sunday, November 15th, 2009

An east coast rival to In & Out recently opened their doors in St. George Utah. Since In & Out opened (roughly a year ago) I have never seen the employees have a dull moment.

Five Guys have a comparable menu to In & Out, however in the two times that I have been to Five Guys, and the hundreds of times I have been to In & Out, here is the difference I have found-

The burger at In & Out is about half the price as a Five Guys Burger (but it tastes half as good).

The fries at In & Out always taste like it is the “bottom of the barrel”. Five Guys tastes fresh and are really quite good.

For a burger alone at Five Guys, you will pay about $5.00. Fries about $2.00- So it’s a little pricy, but trumps In & Out.

What’s the Krave?

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

Over the past couple of years there have been several yogurt shops that have popped up around the country. Many of them have focused on a new “tart” flavor, and have dressed it with items ranging from Captain Crunch, strawberries, and Mochie Balls (it’s a Japanese treat and they are heavenly!).

Krave used a similar concept, but instead of having 2-3 flavors to choose from there are 14-16 options. There are also over 30 toppings to chose from, and you get to create your own creation.

They charge by the ounce so you can have as much or as little as your pocket book will allow. In my experience, you will pay about as much as you would pay at Golden Spoon- there are just more options to choose from.

St. George McDonald’s set to get some Plastic Surgery?

Friday, November 13th, 2009

If you have ever been to the St. George McDonald’s located on 798 E St. George Blvd, you can attest that it has one of the screwiest drive-thru window set up’s ever.

In order to solve that problem, as well as give the whole building a face-lift, it will soon be completely demolished and rebuilt in 2010. The new and improved McDonald’s will even have a two-lane-drive thru.

New Commercial Happenings in St. George Utah

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

Town & Country Bank is set to open their new location beginning January 2010. Town & Country Bank offers a free pick up service, allowing you to make your deposits from the comfort of your office chair. They are currently located out in front of the Summit Athletic Club, and are excited to open their new branch at 405 E St. George Blvd.

Their new office building will replace the former Jolley’s Ranchwear building, which replaced the old Sizzler. Isn’t it great that in St. George that we describe a new businesses’ location by who the tenant was 10 years ago?!?
